So you’ve seen the ads, you’ve submitted the music, now please come and share with us as we present a select group of artists from Acoustic Chicago! We’ve worked really hard this last year to make some great music and would like nothing more than to share it with those of you who have supported us from day one. Stonecutter Records in conjunction with Gojangle One are pleased to present: “An Evening with Acoustic Chicago.” On Saturday September 2nd we will be featuring Malcolm Palmer, Andreas Kapsalis, Scottish McMillan and Sarah Potenza at Gojangle’s brand new venue, Gojangle One, located at 3407 N. Clark (second floor above Fiesta Cantina.) The Acoustic Chicago crew will be there so please join us starting at 7:00 pm for a night of music and margaritas. We’ll be jamming all night to the funkiest, soulful, most rockin’ sounds Acoustic Chicago has to offer! Below you’ll find a link for a ticket to get free admission to the event.

We’d also like to mention that we’re still in search for 4-5 more artists. So please bring any new material that you’ve been working on to the show. We want to hear it! This is just the beginning so watch this space for more upcoming shows, events, opportunities and most importantly music! Thanks to everyone for your ongoing support.

Artists that have been chosen to be on the Acoustic Chicago compilation CD will be participating in our newly launched showcases dubbed Friday Night Sessions. These showcases will feature artists from the Acoustic Chicago record performing to an audience of 75-80 fans in an intimate recording studio setting. To get your chance to be part of the studio audience be sure to check the website periodically for performance dates and ticket information as it becomes available. Don’t miss your chance to be part of the series of special and unforgettable events. You’ll rarely experience anything like this!

SO…we are officially re-opening the submission process to be ongoing. We want to hear any new material you’ve been working on and would like to submit. There are still open slots on the compilation so be persistent and remember that even if you are not selected for Acoustic Chicago Volume 1 you might be selected for the following volumes or even Acoustic USA.

Thank you for your ongoing interest.

Summer is right around the corner and we can’t be happier to welcome the season with the first installments to the Acoustic Chicago compilation. A new page will be added to feature the first signings to the compilation. Check back for the Artists page to view bios and some extra content featuring the artists. Also don’t forget to look for the Dual Disc debut of Acoustic Chicago on our online store in the latter of 2006.

Finally we want to mention that we’ve been diligently listening to all the submissions and they are still being reviewed. So just because you haven’t heard from us doesn’t mean you won’t. Don’t forget to continue sending in your material because there are still spots available. Sorry for the delay but we’re committed to making this a great record which takes time.

As we filter through the 1500 submissions that we’ve received throughout the year we’ve been continually brainstorming on ways to progress the Acoustic Chicago model. We’ve been working very hard on this concept and we can’t be happier to present this idea to you guys! We will soon be launching Acoustic International where we’ll be taking submissions for upcoming acoustic projects starting in New York and Los Angeles. And you guessed it…this project is going international. We’ll keep you informed on the official launch of Acoustic International. So when that happens let your friends around the world know to check out www.acoustic-international.com for submission information.
